My Favorite Beauty Trends of 2019
Now before you begin taking notes from the list below allow me to warn you. These trends are not what’s poppin’ on the runways of Fashion Week. Nope. These are a few things I plan to incorporate in my daily routine to help me feel more polished no matter if I’m at home or out there in those Palm Beach County streets…
The No Make-up” Make-up Look
I stopped wearing foundation a few months ago after playing around with concealer and finishing powders. Don’t get me wrong. I can still appreciate a flawless, “beat” face but I will like to think that look has run its course. Well, for me at least it has. Give me full brows, lots of mascara and moisturized lips and it’s all good.
Exaggerated Baby Hair
There is something about the juxtaposition of smooth baby hair and coarse locs! It’s like Beauty and the Beast in one hair style. Since I’ve been freed from the postpartum hair shedding phase, I’ve been experimenting with laying my edges down. To say I’m loving the results would be an understatement.
Nexgen Nails
In my attempt to look polished at all times, I knew I would have to dedicate time each week to maintaining my nails. My older sister went to the salon every few weeks for what I assumed were acrylic nails. Then one day my younger sister came to visit me sporting a baby blue manicure and pedicure. Imagine my surprise when she told me she went to the same place as our older sister and that the manicure were “dip nails” or better known as Nexgen nails.
But that’s not natural!!! Yeah, so what? Need I remind you that there are warnings on swimming in the ocean due to red tide and blue algae. recalls on romaine lettuce and don’t forget Trump is the President of the United States. Let me enjoy my nails and live a bit please and thank you.
Signature Scent
I currently have a Fall/Winter scent, Chanel No.5
I currently have a weekend scent, Chloe.
I’m thinking of bringing back a former Spring/Summer scent, CoCo Chanel.
Faux Glasses
Yes, I have prescription glasses. Yes, I like the way I look in my glasses. But…I still prefer my contact lenses. So I ordered a few from online with different frame shapes until I found the perfect pair for me. I usually opt for tortoise frames as the mixture of black and brown compliment any shade of skin or clothing.
