Who am I?

Hey y'all! My name is Shalanda and I'm so grateful you stopped in to my little corner of the Internet. I was born and raised in Belle Glade, Florida but currently reside in West Palm Beach, Florida. I am a graduate of Florida State University (Go Noles!!) and would consider myself to be that of a modern day hippie.

Why Do I Blog?

I first began blogging in 2011 as Candy Coated Cashmere, a blog dedicated to my love of thrift store shopping and recreating high end looks on a budget. I greatly regret deleting my first blog.

In 2014 I started a new blog, Shalanda Leigh, which was more personal and like that of a diary. You can see still read those posts here on this blog as I’d learned to never delete a post even if the direction of my writing changes.

Then in 2017 my life shifted…a lot. I went through a divorce, I became a mother, I bought my first home and my blog underwent yet another name change.

In a world full of social media influencers and everyone “flexing’ for the ‘Gram,” I wanted to write about living a regular life with fancy moments sprinkled in here and there.

After the Pandemic of 2020, it is now in 2021 that I have fully clarity of how The Blogger Next Dior is to serve its readers: To inspire others to love their life and live their style. I hope that each and every one of you find joy everyday in where you are in life at this very moment and that you are able to make each of those moments beautiful ones.

And just how do I plan to ignite such fire into you?

By sharing parts of my life with you such as the journey of me turning my house into a home, lessons learned as I navigate being a single parent, gluten free recipes and of course my first love…fashion.
